Satsuma Mandarin

Satsuma Owari Mandarins

Fruit Ripens: December to February

Standard Tree Maturity Size: 12’x 8′

Semi-Dwarf Tree Maturity Size: 8’x 5′

The Satsuma Mandarin, also called the Owari Satsuma, is an orange medium sized, seedless fruit. They originated in China, but as can be observed from their name, they were primarily developed in Japan. The skin almost falls off upon peeling, and the segments separate readily for sweet and tender pieces that make for a perfect snack off the tree. The tree grows dark evergreen leaves and slender spreading branches that grow well in various climates, but are not recommended for hot desert regions.
