Stevia is native to subtropical and tropical regions of North America to South America. It is grown for its sweet leaves. As a sweetener and sugar substitute, stevia’s taste has a slower onset and longer duration than that of sugar. With its extracts having up to 300 times the sweetness of sugar! Stevia has garnered attention with the rise in demand for low-carohydrate, low-sugar food alternatives.

Best Site: In a sunny location in warm weather.

Quantity: Up to 6 plants per box generally intermixed with other herbs.

Pruning and training: Remove dead leaves.

Time to harvest: 3 weeks and on throughout the growing season.

Harvest: Pick off leaves as needed, the more you pick the more it will promote the plant to produce leaves. Do not cut the stems to harvest.

Pest control: Regular applications of neem oil recommended.
