This unique winter citrus towers above the crowd―despite its small size and funny name (which translates roughly as “gold orange” in China). With a sweet skin and tart flesh, the kumquat provides potassium, vitamins A and C, and plenty of fiber. Go ahead, you’re supposed to eat the whole thing―skin and all―though you may want to pass on the seeds.
The Meiwa Kumquat is a lesser known species of kumquat similar to Nagami Kumquat in appearance.
