The apricots grow on a small tree with a dense, spreading canopy, bearing white-to-pink flowers. The fruit is similar to a small peach, from yellow to orange. The flesh is usually firm and not very juicy, with a taste ranging from sweet to tart.
Gold Kist Apricot trees do well in backyards with warm winter temperatures. The tree grows little white pink flowers, then bears heavily, with bright orange fruits of very good quality.
The sweet, flavorful, aromatic fruits of Royal Apricot Trees (also known as Blenheim Apricots) have been a longtime favorite in California.
